"As we move forward as a kingdom, we face many challenges.
We are a stable kingdom with higher and lower might players,
both working together in friendship and for the betterment of our kingdom.
We also have many people who work tirelessly in the background and foreground.
Stability in our kingdom should not be taken for granted as it can also be easily disrupted.
It is important to understand that a title always comes with
official duties and administrative work to make K120 run smoothly.
There are more persons actively working in the back of K120 than titles available.
The palace has worked on defining these roles for some time now,
and we are pleased to move this work into the open environment.
Now it may not be absolutely right and no doubt there will be views what is better or worse.
But for now this gives clarity and something we can improve on over time.
Moving forward, while we work out a better way, the following will occur:
- Quaestor (Judge), Centurion (Effective Head of Royal Guard), and Hand.
The Quaestor & Centurion roles are largely functional
and need consistency from these roles.
The Hand role gives a senior person who ensures that there is connection between the palace changes.
Importantly we need to also address the issue of recognizing
the role that our biggest clan plays in the kingdom. MEL.
They need to be recognized for what is asked or could be asked of them
if we were to be attacked by unscrupulous people from other kingdoms.
The current Palace believes that MEL should be asked
to provide a player for the role of Centurion, Head of our Military effort."
The King has overall responsibility for the kingdom. The King is responsible for the appointment of people to roles in the Palace along with progress and order within the kingdom and relationships with other kingdoms.
The Queen is, along with the Hand, the most trusted advisor and confidant to the king. It would be expected that the Queen would have significant influence over the king, and as such it is vital for there to be trust between these roles.
The queen in TB is primarily responsible for public facing announcements and communications for the kingdom as a whole, both within and with other kingdoms.
The hand of the king is effectively the supervisor of the day to day functions of the Kingdom. Their role is to monitor and manage the effective operations of the kingdom under instruction from and on behalf of the King.
They are also in-effect the chief advisor to the King and will work with the King on assessing and managing matters that occur. This includes engaging with other Kingdoms, ensuring both good and effective relationships with those kingdoms.
It is unlikely the Hand will be seen in a public manner, but will rather work diligently for the efforts of the King and Kingdom behind the scenes. This includes working with the legate on matters to support the Kingdom and with the Archon on matters of court.
The Centurion is honorary head of the Royal Guard. This role requires attention to defense of the kingdom and working and facilitating efforts to ensure the kingdom is in a good state of readiness for attack and defense. The King will appoint an assistant to the Centurion to assist in day to day matters of the Royal Guard.
The role of the Royal Guard is vital to the protection of the Kingdom from internal and external attacks by rogue players or clans. The Royal Guard may be required to uphold and implement actions set down by the Court and in accordance with K120 ROE. This includes claiming Kingdom ingots.
The Chancellor is the advisor on spiritual and temporal matters. A modern take is that they are to look after external matters for the Kingdom and will serve as an extra kingdom diplomat in reserve as needed, both for within and between kingdoms. This includes primary manager of information around events within and across kingdoms.
The Treasurer Is responsible for ingots for the kingdom, they are in communication with all clan treasurers, and will seek the assistance of the Royal Guard through the Centurion to attain ingots.
Rotating role (48 hours) for deserving k120 players. Name and motivation (KvK, ingots, research…) can be submitted to the royal court anytime.
The Quaestor is the head of the courts and responsible for the recruitment of up to 5 judges to support this role. The position of Quaestor is enduring between CoT events, unless there is agreement by all the palace and clan leadership that the player holding the position is unsuitable to continue in this position.
The Tribune serves as a balancing force in the kingdom. The focus of this role is for external relationships.
The Legate reports to the (hand/ centurion) and is a commander of legions. This title has speed up benefit for making troops and is viewed as a kingdom military role.
The Royal Guard are players appointed by the King in input from the Centurion. The 10 highest might players in the Kingdom are typically the members of the Royal Guard but others may be assigned if deemed appropriate by the King.
The Royal Guard has three main roles:
- They respond to matters assigned by the Treasurer or others delegated by the King, notably the collection of overdue Ingots.
- They are responsible within the Kingdom for military actions required by the King.
- They are the Kingdom’s primary defense organization.
The King will appoint a player to assist the Royal Guard. That player will continue in the role beyond palace terms, as with the Quaestor, so as to provide consistency.
