Rules of Engagement (ROE)

BRIEF ROE SUMMARY:

  1. Breaking the "Total Battle's Player Community" Guidelines will not be tolerated and players will be reported if they engage in any of the following behaviors within any of the kingdom chats: spam flooding, foul language, name calling, inciting hatred, racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination, sexual harassment or sexual advances on minors
  2. Players are protected by ROE if they are part of a ROE-following clan (must follow clan description requirements and be set to Request Only)
  3. Clanless players are only protected by ROE if they have a city level of 9 or below
  4. Clanless players with city levels of 10 or higher, players in clans that do not follow ROE, and players who have been declared outlaws by the court are not protected by ROE
  5. Attacking/Scouting clan buildings (forts, capitals) is always illegal (or immediate outlaw status)
  6. Attacking/Scouting DM, WS, and RSS is always illegal, unless they are being occupied illegally
  7. Attacking/Scouting portals in K120 is always illegal unless the portal is hostile
  8. Attacking/Scouting player cities in K120 is always illegal  except if arranged in advance
  9. Attacking/Scouting player cities in other kingdoms is legal if no agreement has been made between K120 and that kingdom.
  10. Arranged attacks with terms agreed to by both parties in advance are allowed at any time
  11. In disputes, diplomatic resolution between the involved players should first be attempted. If that is unsuccessful, the clan diplomats should then attempt resolution. If 24 hours have passed since the incident and neither the involved players nor diplomats can resolve, then the ONLY a clan diplomat can bring the issue to the court via the K120_Court of Justice chat. All reports not sent by a diplomat will be ignored. No other chat is allowed and will end with subject being banned from the chat.
  12. Players must pay taxes regularly (gold ingots via capital). If they accumulate more than the allowed amount, the royal guard can collect the taxes via an attack
  13. Clan marches against other players are only allowed for closing hostile portals and when DM/WS/RSS is being occupied illegally
  14. One retaliation attack is allowed for each time a player is attacked by another player. The initial attack report and the retaliation attack report must be saved and sent to both clan diplomats. If the attacked player retaliates themselves, they can do so regardless of might level. If the attacked player has a clanmate retaliate on their behalf, they must be within the same might level. No clan marches are allowed for retaliation attacks. A retaliation replaces reparation payment.
  15. Monsters, citadels, arenas, common crypts, and epic crypts are open to all regardless of their location. Rare crypts initially are open to all, but once they have been opened with a key, they belong to the player that opened it
  16. DM/WS within clan territory belong to the clan. DM/WS outside of clan territory must be registered in the K120_DM and K120_WS chats and belong to the player that registered them first. Players can only register one DM and one WS per 24 hours. Repeated offenders will be baned from claiming DM/WS
  17. Player-built RSS belong to the player that built them unless within another clan's territory. RSS within clan territory belong to the clan. Game-generated RSS outside of clan territory are open to all
  18. CoT Rules: Between K120 cities only attacks mutually agreed upon by both players involved are authorized. The illegally attacked player can either seek compensation or retaliate, but not both.

THE COMPLETE ROE:

Definitions:

  1. ROE/Rules of Engagement: The rules/laws of our kingdom
  2. DM/Dragon Mound: Naturally occurring dragon-shaped gold extraction point.
  3. WS/Wellspring Ruins: Naturally occurring tar extraction point (tar for crypts).
  4. RSS/Resources: Naturally occurring or player-built extraction points for wood, stone, iron, silver, food, or gold (only gold mines, not DM).
  5. Crypt: Naturally occurring burial tomb where resources and materials can be gathered, clan chest earned upon completion.
  6. Citadel: Naturally occurring stronghold of monsters which can be attacked, key for opening rare crypt and clan chest earned upon completion.
  7. Arena: Naturally occurring circular venue where you can earn VP or CP, can also earn resources and other rewards, clan chest earned upon completion.
  8. Portal: Red or blue oval-shaped opening for instantaneous travel; blue portals belong to clanmates and red portals belong to non-clanmates. Clanmates can use each other's portals.
  9. Clan Territory: The land that belongs to a clan, marked by a colored border on the map. The clan territory size depends on the clan building locations and the number of clan "help clicks"
  10. Clan March: An attack made by a player while using reinforcements from allies/clanmates.
  11. VP/Valor Points: Used for research, earned from monsters and brown spiky-looking arenas.
  12. CP/Conquest Points: Used for research, earned from other players and silver smooth-looking arenas.
  13. COT/Clash for the Throne: A tournament during which the rules for attacking other players are different. Players within the top 100 ranking for the tournament become senators when the tournament concludes. The senator title gives VP and XP bonuses and also allows the player to run for and/or vote for king. The senator and king titles last until the next COT tournament.

Protection Under ROE

  1. Lawful Citizens: Only players in ROE clans are considered lawful K120 citizens who are protected by ROE and can use official kingdom chat pages for DM/WS registration and court.
  2. Outlaw Status: If declared an outlaw by the court, a player loses lawful status, protections, and official chat privileges. Outlaws can be attacked without restrictions and bounties may be posted for finding their city location. ROE clans must remove outlaws within 24 hours. Clans harboring outlaws may be declared outlaw clans, losing protections and chat rights.
  3. Clan Access: ROE clans must be set to "Request Only" to prevent outlaws from joining.
  4. Clan Description: The first line of the clan description for ROE clans must state “We follow K120 ROE” for protection to apply. The second line should name 1-2 clan diplomats. The third line should name a clan tax supervisor
  5. Clan Diplomats: Clan diplomats resolve disputes between clan members and other clans. They first attempt this diplomatically, but if that fails, they can bring the case to court. The clan diplomat(s) are chosen by the clan leader and they must be members of the clan of veteran rank or higher.
  6. Clan Tax Supervisor: Clan tax supervisors are responsible for monitoring the clan members' tax payments. They ensure that no one accumulates gold ingots over the allowed amount. They work with the violating players as needed to encourage them to pay their taxes, and if that fails, they communicate with the royal guard. The royal guard can collect the taxes as needed via an attack
  7. Player Responsibility: Players must read the ROE and seek membership in an established ROE clan or create their own.
  8. Leader Responsibility: Clan leaders and superiors must ensure members understand the ROE, coaching and educating them as necessary. This includes discussing where to read the ROE with new clan recruits prior to admitting them to the clan.
  9. Level 1-9 Exception: Clanless players with city levels 1-9 are protected from attacks, with certain conditions and exceptions.

Official Kingdom Chat Pages

  1. The K120 ROE is no longer available in a Total Battle chat. It is accessible via the following link: https://kingdom120.com/roe . If a player has a question regarding ROE, they should first ask their clan. If they are unable to get an answer from their clan, they should then ask their question in the Kingdom [120] chat. Please refrain from asking ROE questions in the other offical chats, such as the court and registration chats.
  2. K120_Court of Justice: This chat is reserved for ROE clan diplomats to present cases to the court judges. Strict procedures must be followed. Violations may lead to silver fines and/or the removal of the player's access to have their cases reviewed in court
  3. K120_Justice consult: This is a chat where clan leaders and diplomats (or players if they have not received the help they needed from their clan leader/diplomat) may ask questions regarding the ROE and how certain situations should be handled
  4. K120_Outlaws: This chat is where the court will post the outlaw and pardon decrees
  5. K120_LVL 1-9 COURT: In this chat, clanless players with capital levels between 1-9 can request intervention from the court and royal guard.
  6. K120_DM: This chat is for registering DM that are not within clan territory. Only specific registration information is allowed, no chatting. Violations may result in silver fines and/or the removal of the player's access to register DM
  7. K120_WS: This chat is for registering WS that are not within clan territory. Only specific registration information is allowed, no chatting. Violations may result in silver fines and/or the removal of the player's access to register WS
  8. Kingdom [120]: This is the general chat for everyone in the kingdom. It's for asking questions, recruiting, and socializing
  9. Breaking Total Battle's Player Community Guidelines will not be tolerated and players will be reported if they engage in any of the below behaviors within any of the kingdom chats:

  • spam flooding
  • foul language
  • name calling or inciting hatred
  • deliberate racism, sexism, or any other form of discrimination
  • sexual harrassment or sexual advances on minors

Legal vs Illegal Attacks

  1. Clan Buildings (forts/capitals): always illegal to attack/scout (or immediate outlaw status)
  2. DM/WS/RSS: always illegal to attack/scout unless they are being occupied illegally. Illegally occupied DM/WS/RSS can be attacked without restrictions, including clan march if necessary to defend the clan's assets
  3. Attacks on DM/WS will go to a specific page with specific moderators not the Justice Chatroom
  4. Clan Territory Portals: Portals located within a clan's territory are considered sacrosanct and must never be attacked under any circumstance. Respecting the sanctity of clan territory portals is paramount.
  5. Wild Portals: Wild portals are considered hostile during COT if an attack was conducted from it. it can be closed by the attacked clan by any means necessary, to include clan marches.  Once a wild portal has been attacked and/or closed in response to an attack, the original owner or creator of the portal is strictly prohibited from retaliating against the closing clan.
  6. Player Cities: illegal to attack/scout during peace time and COT, with exceptions for legal retaliation or arranged attacks that are agreed upon by both parties ahead of time.
  7. Arranged attacks with terms agreed to by both parties in advance are allowed at any time. Arranged attacks can be made with other players regardless of might level
  8. Clan Marches: only allowed for closing hostile portals and when DM/WS/RSS is being occupied illegally
  9. Clanless Players with City Level 1-9: initially protected by ROE and cannot be attacked. If the clanless level 1-9 player attacks first, attempt diplomatic resolution and attempt to teach the player about ROE (most likely a new player). If this is unsuccessful, then the player at this point can be attacked without limitations.
  10. Clanless Players with City Level 10+, Players in Non-ROE Clans, and Outlaws: can be attacked at any time without restrictions.
  11. Retaliation Attacks: one retaliation attack is allowed for each time a player is attacked by another player. The initial attack report and the retaliation attack report must be saved and sent to both clan diplomats. If the attacked player retaliates themselves, they can do so regardless of city level. If the attacked player has a clanmate retaliate on their behalf, they must be within the same might level. No clan marches are allowed for retaliation attacks.
  12. Players must pay taxes regularly (gold ingots via capital). Clan tax supervisors are responsible for monitoring the clan members' tax payments. They ensure that no one accumulates gold ingots over the allowed amount. They work with the violating players as needed to encourage them to pay their taxes, and if that fails, they communicate with the royal guard. The royal guard must first scout the player and send the scouting report showing the ingots count to the violating player, their clan tax supervisor, and their clan diplomat(s). The player then has 24hrs from the time the message is sent to send the ingots. If there is no response and the ingots are not sent, the royal guard will collect the taxes by force with an attack
  13. CoT Rules: Attacks within K120 are prohibited unless mutually agreed upon by both players involved. One Retaliation attack is authorized for each attack received.

Violations and Dispute Resolution

  1. Clanless Players with City Level 10+, Players in Non-ROE Clans, and Outlaws: These players cannot utilize the court chats and must resolve their disputes themselves. If a player of a ROE clan is attacked by one of the players, they can retaliate without limitations. If they are not strong enough to retaliate, a clan diplomat can request help from the court and royal guard
  2. Clanless Players with City Level 1-9: These players can either resolve disputes themselves or ask the court and royal guard for help via the K120_LVL 1-9 COURT chat. If a player in a ROE clan is attacked by one of these players, attempt diplomatic resolution and attempt to teach the player about ROE (most likely a new player). If this is unsuccessful, then the player at this point can be attacked without limitations.
  3. Between Multiple ROE Clans: If illegally attacked, one legal retaliation attack is allowed (see Legal vs Illegal Attacks section of ROE for more details). Players should always attempt communicating and resolving the matter diplomatically between themselves when possible. If this is unsuccessful, the player should reach out to the clan diplomat. If 24 hours have passed since the incident, and the issue hasn't been able to be resolved diplomatically between the players nor clan diplomats, the clan diplomat can then at that point present the case to the court in the K120_Court of Justice chat. Only Diplmats may use this room.
  4. Protocol and Time Constraints: Clan diplomats can only present cases to the court if at least 24 hours have passed since the incident and diplomatic resolution was attempted with both the players and the clan diplomats but was unsuccessful. If 72 hours have passed since the incident and no case has been presented to the court yet, it cannot be admitted afterward. If the court asks for more information and the player doesn't respond within 24 hours, the case might get dismissed. Cases that don’t follow the proper procedures and/or are presented in the incorrect location will be dismissed or ignored.
  5. Failure to Pay Compensation: Failing to pay ordered compensation within the timeline will result in an outlaw status
  6. Appeals: Court decisions can be appealed and requested to be re-reviewed if there is a substantial reason for the request. The clan diplomat must request the appeal on the player's behalf. Multiple judges should deliberate on these appeals and come to an agreement on the decision. Appeals are expected to be rare.
  7. DM/WS issues will not be heard by Justice They are delt with my specific moderators.

Taxes and Kingdom Bonuses

  1. Daily Taxes: Gold ingots/bars must be paid daily by everyone. These are exclusively for taxes and are unable to be used by players for anything else
  2. Kingdom Bonuses: The king, queen, and hand of the king use these taxes to activate kingdom-wide bonuses
  3. King’s Mercy Tournament: This special event rewards players based on the amount of gold ingots they contribute to the royal treasury. It is permissible to save gold ingots for this tournament, but only to a certain limit
  4. Clan Tax Supervisors: Each clan leader needs to elect a clan tax supervisor. Clan tax supervisors are responsible for monitoring the clan members' tax payments. They ensure that no one accumulates gold ingots over the allowed amount. They work with the violating players as needed to encourage them to pay their taxes, and if that fails, they communicate with the royal guard.
  5. Exceeding the Limit: If players accumulate more than the allowed amount, the royal guard can collect the taxes. The royal guard must first scout the player and send the scouting report showing the ingots count to the violating player, their clan tax supervisor, and their clan diplomat(s). The player then has 24hrs from the time the message is sent to send the ingots. If there is no response and the ingots are not sent, the royal guard will collect the taxes by force with an attack. Troops and/or resources lost during the scout and attack will not be reimbursed
  6. Gold Ingots Limit: The acceptable number of gold ingots a player can possess depends on their capital level:

  • City Levels 1-10: 5,000 ingots
  • City Levels 11-20: 10,000 ingots
  • City Levels 21-30: 20,000 ingots
  • City Levels 31-40: 40,000 ingots
  • City Levels 41+: 50,000 ingots

Monsters, Citadels, Crypts, and Arenas

  1. First-Come First-Served: Monsters, citadels, arenas, common crypts, and epic crypts are open to anyone, regardless of where they're located. They don't belong to the clan if inside the clan's territory
  2. Rare Crypts: first-come first-served initially, but once they have been opened with a key, they belong to the player that opened it. If another player works the crypt without the opener's permission, it's considered theft and could be taken to court if diplomacy fails.
  3. Inconsiderate Behavior: Marching to a monster, citadel, or crypt when someone else is already en route is discouraged but not legally actionable. Similarly, swooping in on an arena run to earn the clan chest, especially when another clan has done most of the work, is frowned upon but can't be taken to court.

RSS/Resources

  1. RSS in Clan Territory: RSS in clan territory belong to the clan. If they are occupied by someone not in the clan,  the clan can remove them and defend that RSS without restrictions (including clan march if necessary). If the clan can't remove the player themselves and diplomatic routes fail, the issue can be taken to court. The royal guard can assist in removing them and/or the court could order compensation to be paid
  2. Player-Built RSS: Player-built RSS are owned by the player who built them. If someone else occupies them without permission, diplomacy should be tried first. If that fails, the occupier can be removed by force without restrictions (including clan march if necessary). If the player and their clan can't remove the player themselves and diplomatic routes fail, the issue can be taken to court. The royal guard can assist in removing them and/or the court could order compensation to be paid
  3. Inter-Clan RSS Issues: If a RSS is being occupied by another clan member and can't be resolved internally, you can seek help from another clan to remove the occupying player. These cases can't go to court since it's an internal clan issue. The last resort is kicking the player from the clan and then removing them by force.
  4. Naturally Occurring RSS Outside Clan Territory: These are first-come first-served. You can't attack a player once they've occupied these sites, but if they leave, it's open for anyone to claim.
  5. RSS Near Clan Territory: If a player occupies a RSS that is very close to another clan's territory, the player should reach out to that clan's diplomat and leader to let them know that they are there right outside the territory. If the clan territory happens to expand while the player is still occupying that resource, causing them to enter the clan territory, the clan would know that at the time of occupying they were not within the territory so they will not attack the player. The clan should message the player and let them know that the clan territory has expanded and that they are now within clan territory and ask them to leave the RSS. The player occupying this resource close to other clan territory should be mindful of the risks involved and watch for such a message from the clan. The clan should provide 1 hour for the player to leave the RSS. If the player has not left after an hour, the clan may remove them by force if needed without restrictions.

Dragon Mounds (DM) and Wellspring Ruins (WS)

  1. DM/WS in Clan Territory: DM/WS in clan territory belong to the clan. If they are occupied by someone not in the clan,  the clan can remove them and defend that DM/WS without restrictions (including clan march if necessary). If the clan can't remove the player themselves and diplomatic routes fail, the issue can be taken to court. The royal guard can assist in removing them and/or the court could order compensation to be paid
  2. DM/WS Outside Clan Territory: DM/WS outside of clan territory must be registered in the K120_DM and K120_WS chats and belong to the player that registered them first. Players can only register one DM and one WS per 24 hours. To register, the coordinates should be posted in the applicable chat. Near kingdom opening, the process will be changed to only post the Y coordinates. After registering, players must start marching to the DM/WS within 10 minutes, or the DM/WS will be up for grabs again by others
  3. Level Restrictions: Players with city levels under 1-19 can only register 5k DM/WS. Players with city levels of 20+ can register any.
  4. Ownership and Transfer: The DM/WS is owned by the registered player until it is completely drained, unless it is abandoned or tranferred to a clanmate. A player can only transfer a DM/WS to a clanmate who is also not still within their 24 hour limit to register a DM/WS. The transfer with both players' names must be posted clearly in the applicable chat, and the 24-hour limit restarts at that time for both players. If the player leaves the DM/WS and is not in the process of transferring it to a clanmate, the DM/WS is considered abandoned and it is up for grabs again by others
  5. Cancelling Registrations: Once claimed, players cannot cancel the registration. They can choose not to occupy it or can choose to leave it early, but in that case they still cannot register another DM/WS for 24 hours since the time of the registration
  6. If found with multiple violations, you will be banned from ever claiming DM/WS.
